Beans curry (Sri Lankan type)
I don’t
think that beans are a strange food for you. Beans curry is very well going
with rice and also if you can get the right taste you can eat beans curry
directly. Anyway, first let’s take a look about this vegetable, but if you not interested
in details about beans, you are perfectly welcome to directly scroll down and

Bean has long history and it
is one of the longest cultivated vegetables. It has a history around 6000
years. According to most sources’ beans originated in Afghanistan and Himalayan
foothills. Then it is widely spread across the globe including Egypt and
Thailand. Most bean consumption countries are as follows. Myanmar, India,
Brazil, Mexico, United States.
January 6th is the
national bean day. (It is the same day that geneticist, Gregor Mendel died. He
used bean plants to test his theories on inheritance.)
In
Nicaragua, newly married couples are given a bowl of beans as a sign of good
future.
World’s
largest bean pods are able to grow around 5 feet long.
Beans are
using to make muffins, drinks, cakes, toys and many more things.

Beans are
wonderful sources of protein, iron, complex carbohydrates. Therefore, it is
very famous among vegetarians.
HEALTH BENEFITS
INGRIEDIENTS
*450g of
washed beans
*olive oil 2
teaspoons
*sliced 4
white onions
*salt and
black pepper (as you wish)
DIRECTIONS
*Firstly,
boil the beans in the water vapor (using pressure cooker or rice cooker). If
you want you can boil beans in the water, but I do not recommend that.
*Boil for
4-5 minutes. Don’t let it over boiled. It will be caused to harm the nutrient
properties of beans.
*Now take
out the beans and let it be dried for a while.
*Then put
the olive oil into a pan and heat it.
*Now put the
white onion into this pan let it be fried until it gets golden color.
*After that
add beans, salt and black pepper into that pan mix all of them well. It is recommended
to cook for 3-4 minutes. Don’t let it be over cooked and don’t let it be
changed the delicious color of the beans.
*Now the
dish of beans is ready to be served. Enjoy it.
